Technical Documentation Project Approach
New England Writers Group's approach to technical documentation allows you to focus on your business while we focus on your documentation. We are proud of our reputation for meeting stringent deadlines and staying within the budget established at the beginning of a project. Our Technical Documentation Project Approach features four basic steps:
Project Definition Our technical documentation projects begin with a detailed Project Definition, which outlines the goals, tasks, and deliverables associated with your project. The Project Definition is a detailed scope of services. It outlines how New England Writers Group will do the job, and gives you a clear idea of what resources you will need to complete the technical documentation project. Once the tasks have been outlined and the Project Definition accepted, we assign a schedule of labor hours and a budget for the project. You will be able to chart the progress of the project just as you would any expenditure in your department. Project Design New England Writers Group works with you to design technical documentation solutions to suit your audience and your project goals. We assist you with establishing a project team and assigning roles and responsibilities. Team members will include Subject Matter Experts, as well as individuals assigned to technical review and management review. The design of your product may require a three-ring binder in an Project Implementation New England Writers Group facilitates the project kick-off meeting. During this meeting, we present our technical documentation project approach and explain the responsibilities of Subject Matter Experts and review committees. A schedule with milestones is established, including frequent reviews to ensure that quality documentation is produced cost-effectively. Project Evaluation Your technical documentation project will be evaluated by a selected audience to determine that the goals of your project were met.
